Why is My Roof Leaking?
Leaks can be caused by cracked tiles, rusted iron, failed flashings, or worn membranes. It can take time to find the root cause of a leak in your roof, thoroughly investigating leaks is something Roof Protect prides themself on.

Should I Restore or Replace My Roof?
Restoration is a cost-effective way to extend the life of your roof. Often this entails repairs to ensure water tightness then coatings are applied. Not all roofs can be restored, and we will be upfront if a new roof is the best option, and can refer you to our recommended local roof installer. See Our Work for examples.
How Often Should I Maintain My Roof?
We recommend a simple and cost-effective roof treatment for moss and lichen every 2.5 years, including an expert team member viewing your roof to ensure it remains in great shape.
Can Asbestos Roofs Be Restored Safely?
Yes, we follow WorkSafe guidelines for asbestos handling and can arrange testing.
At customers' request, we can test the tiles for asbestos content. Our team works within Work Safe guidelines for working with asbestos to ensure safe and compliant practice. Asbestos was used in tiles as a heat dispersant.
This was considered best practice in the 1970s and early 1980s. The type of asbestos used is non-friable asbestos. The Roofing Association of New Zealand has shown data to the Government that there are no respirable asbestos fibres present in the decramastic tiles even when cut or ground. In terms of your safety, there is no risk of inhaling asbestos as outlined by RANZ. The Work Safe guidelines allow for the removal of less than 10 square metres of decramastic roofing materials in order to repair decramastic tile roofs.
What is your Health & Safety policy?
Roof Protect is fully committed to the safety of our team, so they return home safely to their families each day. We are certified and trained in working at heights, utilise Hazard Co for our safety needs at site, and often use Edge Protection or at times, scaffolding. This may cost a small amount more but ensures the safety of our people and allows the efficient completion of your roofing works.
